KDS visit the home of the Blues

This week our Year 8 and 9 students enjoyed a trip to IKON Park, home of the Blues. Year 9 student Ethan S. reports:

On Monday, the Year 8s and 9s went on an excursion to IKON Park to watch the Carlton Blues train. We started off with a tour of the Carlton FC Museum, led by Carlton legend Greg “Diesel” Williams. Mr Hayman and Mr Berhang, in particular were extremely excited to hear from one of their childhood heroes, who is a two-time Brownlow Medal winner. We had the privilege to see all of the trophies, artefacts, and other memorabilia from the club’s history. After we toured the club, we went outside to the main oval, where we got to watch a practice match between the players. It was awesome to watch the players showing off their skills up close. We ended the day by talking to some incredible players, such as Charlie Curnow, Harry Mackay, Jacob Weitering and many others, who came around to sign autographs and take photos with us. Overall, it was an amazing and memorable day for for footy fans, whether you’re a Carlton supporter (like me) or a fan of one of the other AFL teams.
