Sharing Shabbat together
This morning parents, grandparents and special people in our Junior Kinders’ lives came together to celebrate Shabbat togther. It was a beautiful morning of singing, dancing, and of course candle lighting and challah eating. Students also showed off their Chanukah learning, holding individual lights, and playing with the sevivon (dreidel).
Learning Area Leader Jewish Studies K-5, Louise Lowinger, said: “In Banu Choshech l’Garesh, the children sing of light pushing away darkness — reminding us that darkness isn’t a force of its own, but simply the absence of light. Each child is an “or katan,” a small but precious light, defined by their unique strengths and inner flame. When these individual sparks come together, our collective Jewish community shines as a powerful, radiant halo of hope and resilience.”
