Performing Arts Scholarship – Additional Information
The Performing Arts Scholarship aims to attract students with exceptional ability in drama and theatre to The King David School.
Are you eligible to apply?
External students (students who do not currently attend King David) are invited to apply. Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
Selection will take into account:
- completion of KDS application and submitted requested documents
- registration with Edutest (a link will be provided to you once you have completed The King David School online registration). $110 Edutest registration fee applies
- The compulsory on-site examination at the School on Thursday 26 February 2026
- two most recent school reports
- most recent NAPLAN results (if applicable)
- video audition (2-3) minutes performing one monologue from the set of age-appropriate playscripts provided by the School
- submission of a short CV detailing experience in performing arts and involvement in co-curricular activities, ensembles, music lessons, sport, student council, or youth/community organisations.

Value
Performing Arts scholarships cover a percentage of tuition fees through to the end of Year 12. The scholarships do not cover:
- the cost of books, stationery or uniforms
- discretionary charges such as overseas trips
- security charges
- associated charges
Ongoing Conditions
Performing Arts Scholarship recipients must:
- maintain a sound standard of academic achievement
- participate fully in the School’s Performing Arts program
- contribute to the cultural life of the School
- complete their secondary education at The King David School
- Undertake VCE Theatre Studies Units 1-4.
A Scholarship may be withdrawn if the Principal is not satisfied with the diligence or conduct of the recipient. Failure to pay fees may also lead to withdrawal.
All applicants must submit an online Scholarship application made directly to The King David School as register directly with Edutest.
Once the Admissions Department has received your application, you will be invited to attend an interview with our Principal, Marc Light.
