Nitzan explore our diverse city
In their final Nitzan term, our Year 9 students explore and experience the many cultures that make up our marvelous Melbourne.
From Little India in Dandenong to Bollywood Dancing in Richmond, visits to the Chinese Museum and Kung Fu lessons in Carlton, our students see the sights, smell the smells and walk the paths of our diverse city. Recently, groups of students visited Footscray Market and sampled the Vietnamese foods on offer before wandering through the backstreets and along the Maribyrnong River to The Heavenly Queen Temple – the largest Taoist Temple in Australia. Another group of students was guided through St Paul’s Cathedral and the Shrine of Remembrance, gaining an understanding of our city’s heritage and the ANZAC spirit. Yet another group of students walked the laneways and alleys for which Melbourne is renowned, examining our colorful and world-famous street art culture.
