ELC students are playing in the tide. They are wearing neon yellow safety vests and hats. They are touching the water and sand. They are excited to be at the beach.

Life’s a Beach for our ELC

This week, Gan Tamar went on their very first Beach Kinder excursion to Elwood Beach. The children arrived eager and excited, with many asking throughout the morning, “Is it time to go yet?”

The bus ride felt long as the children’s anticipation grew, and they repeated “Are we there yet?” Before long, we finally arrived, greeted by the calm, clear blue water and bright skies.

We began our adventure by taking off our shoes and enjoying morning tea on the sand. Once everyone was fed and ready, the children eagerly ran off to explore and play.

Prior to our excursion, Gan Tamar had engaged in discussions about how to stay safe at Beach Kinder. We talked about how it’s okay to get our legs wet, but the water should always stay below our knees. We also reminded ourselves not to approach dogs, not to wander away from teachers, and to always let a teacher know before going down to the water, especially if there isn’t one nearby.

All too soon, it was time to head back.

Zeke: But we didn’t get to visit the playground!

Thankfully, we’ll be back at Beach Kinder next week. Here’s to hoping for another day of fabulous weather!
