Students light Chanukah candles

Junior School Chanukah Festival

The Junior School campus has been bursting with Chanukah excitement this week! Our students kicked off a thrilling festival week with communal tefillah where we lit the Chanukiah and heard about the incredible work of The Joint Australia who kindly donated boxes of candles to each of our P-5 students. Across the school, students experienced the joy of the chag with activities each day this past week! Every class worked on their own take-home craft to display and discuss with their families, further publicizing the miracles of Chanukah. Our Year 5 students even created their own stunning mosaic chanukiyot. Our sensational Jewish Experiential Educators, Noa and Tali, ran activities in each class focusing on the Maccabim and the theme of bravery. The awesome Hebrew team jumped in on the fun with svivonim decorating, tournaments and songs. We were visited by our Youth Movement friends from SKIF, Hineni, Betar and Nezter who treated us to lots of lunchtime fun! And what Chanukah festival would be complete without decorate-your-own sufganiya? It was a ‘jam-packed’ week of delighted faces all around!

Chag Chanukah Sameach!
