The King David School awards a number of Academic Scholarships to students entering Years 5, 6 7 and 9 in the year following their application. Scholarships are open to both current students and those not currently attending The King David School.
The aim of our scholarship program is to attract and support students who appreciate the special qualities of education and community life that The King David School has to offer. We seek students committed to the values and ethos of the School and who will participate fully in School life.
Academic Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a written examination, previous school reports, NAPLAN and an interview.
Scholarships are awarded for the duration of secondary schooling, subject to satisfactory performance and progress.
To be eligible for a scholarship at The King David School, candidates must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency in Australia.
Details of Testing
The scholarship examination is held at The King David School Magid Campus (517-519 Orrong Road Armadale). Students are asked to assemble at 8.45am at Reception.
Candidates need to bring 2HB pencils, pencil eraser, pencil sharpener and two blue or black pens to the examination. Rulers, mathematical instruments including calculators, calculator watches, watches that beep, mobile phones, books or papers of any kind are not permitted. As there will be a short break between sections of the test, candidates are encouraged to bring a snack and a drink.
Details of Interview
Scholarship applicants and their parent(s)/guardian(s) will be required to attend an interview with the Principal. The interview will be scheduled once online registration has taken place. Once an interview time has been booked a copy of your child’s most recent School report and NAPLAN results are to be sent to the School at least 1 week prior to the scheduled interview date. If the School has not received these documents by then the interview will be rescheduled.
Parents are invited to join in a tour of the Magid Campus and Rebecca Magid Campus a 9.00am with the Registrar, Adina Cavallaro.
Parents should collect their children at the Orrong Road entrance at the conclusion of their examination at approximately 12.00pm.
