EISM sport competition off to a winning start

Round 1 of the EISM Senior competition began on Wednesday. KDS faced Huntingtower in basketball, soccer, tennis and badminton. It was wonderful to see so many of our Year 12 students turn out to represent KDS, with excellent support from the Years 10 and 11 cohorts. There were some very strong performances and some great team spirit shown. The basketball teams were dominant in their matches, with the KDS girls’ team winning 61-13. The boys match was closer, with KDS getting over the line 34-24. The boys soccer team dominated possession, winning 7-1, while the girls team had a gutsy 2-2 draw. Congratulations to the girl’s team, who displayed fantastic school spirit during the match. The boys tennis team had a see-sawing fixture with the Huntingtower team. This match ended in a 2-2 draw, with the total games won also drawn 16-16. KDS’s first foray into mixed badminton saw a steep learning curve for the players. KDS were competitive in the doubles, and showed excellent spirit despite losing the match 24-1.
