Students at the Junior School celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut on the oval. They are wearing blue and white - some are wearing blue ballerina tutus. You can see the school mansion behind the students.

A Phenomenal Yom HaAtzmaut

We celebrated the State of Israel’s 77th birthday yesterday with fun activities across our campuses.

Junior School and ELC students started the day with a moving tekes where they were fortunate enough to be addressed by both Ben Gurion and Golda Meir! Year 4 students enacted their traditional flag parade with precision and commitment, and students danced across the oval with ruach and strength. Junior School students built a mini Kotel, learned Israeli dancing with Netzer, tried special Israeli food, and took an El Al flight to Israel where they landed at the Shuk Machane Yehuda! At the Shuk students exchanged shekels for games, smoothies, limonana, pancakes, hair and nail services, and photobooth fun.

Students on the Magid Campus visited the ‘Museum of Israel’ as they arrived, where they answered trivia questions and learned about Israeli innovations. After a spirited assembly where we played Pass the Parcel, and danced with ruach led by Hebrew teacher Hani Ron, students engaged in a variety of activities including fact-based amazing race, Krav Maga, cooking Israeli food, learning about Israel through soccer, and listening to Israeli speakers. A highlight of the day was signing the Declaration of Independence and visiting Tel Aviv to eat falafel, have an ‘Anita’ ice cream and ‘surf’ on the beach.

A huge Kol HaKavod to our Jewish Life and Learning teams who made the day a meaningful and fun celebration for our students at both campuses.

Happy Birthday Israel! Atzmaut Sameach!
