A great experience on Year 4 camp

Last week Year 4 attended a two night camp where they experienced new adventures and created lasting friendships. Students went tree surfing, canoeing, did some archery and went on a lovely bush walk. Read below reflections from three of our students:

We sat down with torches on our heads surrounding us. The birds and crickets were chirping. It felt very cozy especially because there was a fire crackling right in front of me. We then started singing songs (kind of). You see we all knew the songs but we were all too shy to sing but it ended up being fine because we put our arms around each other and swayed from side to side. Finally we climbed up the hill and went back to the cabins. I really enjoyed getting to the campfire and it was one of the greatest experiences of camp. Matisse P.

My favourite part of camp was playing games during the night. When one member of my team (Mia’s Minions), went to represent us, we all supported that person. It felt really good to play for my team and win. I was so happy and I wish I could play with my team again. Eitam S.

When we went tree surfing I was a bit scared, as I didn’t go last year. I got my harness, gloves and helmet on and chose a beginners course to start with. After some climbing, I reached a zipline. I was very nervous to go but Joey was there and helped me get ready to fly. Right before I went, I was so nervous that they pushed me off! I am glad they pushed me to go because it was amazing, I felt the breeze in my face and the wind blowing in my hair. It was over so quickly, so I made sure to try the more difficult course for longer ziplines. I was so happy, I wanted to spend the whole day tree surfing. Penie Z
