Media students gain photographic perspective

Year 11 media students are currently involved in an investigation into photographic portrays of gender across time and history. They have studied artworks from many photographers, including the well renowned Julie Millowick. To complement this in-class study, the students visited a gallery of her works at the Footscray community arts centre, where they were exposed to a wider range of her works. The gallery experience allows students to see the images in a new context and to immerse themselves in all things photography based, as well as engage in some fruitful discussion of how photographers capture the perspective of their subjects
