Our Middle School
We bridge childhood and young adulthood with caring pastoral structures and high expectations. Core studies deepen while Arts, Technologies and STEAM electives broaden choice. Inquiry, targeted support and rich co-curricular opportunities prepare students for Senior School.

Middle School is a pivotal stage where students begin to foster independence and develop their social skills. Our curriculum is designed to support academic growth while nurturing personal connections.

Year 6
Year 6 marks the exciting introduction to the Middle Years, where curiosity, creativity, and connection are cultivated. The Kindle Program invites students to explore ideas, take risks, and discover their voice. Strong foundations in core subjects support both academic confidence and emerging passions.

Year 7
Year 7 is designed to ensure a smooth transition, particularly for those new to King David, promoting cohesion throughout the year level. A strong academic core builds essential skills and study habits, while our elective program and embedded wellbeing support ensure students are challenged, supported, and engaged.

Year 8
Year 8 is a key developmental year that deepens academic skills and students’ independence. Through Passion 4 Thinking, students strengthen their research and critical thinking capabilities, while experiential learning and a broad elective program build communication, confidence, and readiness for the challenges of Year 9.

Year 9
Year 9 emphasises agency, independence, and academic rigour. Students take increasing ownership of their learning, with the Nitzan Program intentionally supporting voice and responsibility alongside rich electives and an immersive Israel seminar that deepens identity and perspective.

At King David School, Jewish life is woven into the fabric of our community. Through prayer services, festivals, and social justice initiatives, students deepen their connection to their heritage.

Nitzan Program
In Year 9, students spend Wednesdays in Nitzan—a full-day programme for real-world learning and wellbeing. With active starts, hands-on projects, key accreditations and community initiatives, they grow confidence, purpose and belonging.

Our Kesher Program provides a nurturing daily homeroom environment that emphasises mindfulness and social skills. Through our Wellbeing Curriculum, students engage in workshops that promote mental health and personal growth.

Engage in Dynamic Learning Experiences
Learning at KDS is hands-on and purposeful—through inquiry projects, STEAM and design challenges, studio arts, music and drama, sport and outdoor education. Students think critically in philosophy circles, deepen Jewish Life experiences, and stretch themselves through camps, clubs, competitions and community service — building curiosity, character and real-world skills.
