'Untitled' (Textile)
This piece is a representation of my identity due to the task being to create a self portrait; I am choosing to express this as using a garment for my canvas, weighted down by ‘thrown pomegranates and their seeds’ (made out of embroidery beadwork), symbolic of the persistent persecution I've faced due to being different, and is supposed to explore/show the emotions felt of being ‘othered’ on the basis of my religion, queerness and differences to peers in a physical manifestation of the attacks I've faced, of which have been both psychological and physical.
