Yesterday, five KDS students represented our school at the Middle School Ethics Olympiad, competing against 37 other schools.Throughout the competition, students explored and debated a range of complex ethical issues, including artificial intelligence, environmental ethics and the ethics of lying.

Our team consisted of:Asha Z (Year 9), Jesse Z (Year 9), Jovan P (Year 7), Leah K (Year 7), Zev H (Year 8)

‍Our students truly impressed the judges with their philosophical insight, thoughtful questioning and ability to engage with challenging ideas. They demonstrated an impressive capacity to consider opposing perspectives, acknowledge different viewpoints and build upon one another's arguments to develop deeper and more considered ideas.

Working collaboratively as a team, they showcased outstanding critical thinking, creativity, open mindedness and communication skills. Just as importantly, they conducted themselves with great respect and maturity throughout the competition.

We are incredibly proud to share that they were awarded the Gold Medal in the Middle School Ethics Olympiad! They will now go on to represent KDS at the International Ethics Olympiad early next year, where they will compete against schools from around the world.A huge Kol Hakavod to our amazing philosophers, or should I say, our fantastic Eth-letes!

An outstanding achievement and one that has certainly given us plenty of nachas!
