Our Maths time unit for Term 3 began with a Minute to Win it extravaganza which saw the students attempt various challenges with a minute time limit. There was a rotation of 5 different challenges to participate in, some were more difficult than others.

The challenges were:

1. Throw the ball - students held the cup on top of their heads and threw a ball to try and get it into the cup.
2. Stacking dice - using 6 dice, students needed to create two towers of 3 dice in each and then try to balance a ball on top of each tower.
3. Chopstick challenge - using chopsticks, students had to move the marbles from one plate to the other.
4. Cup stack - using 15 cups, students needed to stack and then unstack a pyramid of cups
5. Dice balance - students needed to balance 5 dice on top of each other on the end of an icy pole stick.

The students all had a wonderful time exploring the concept of 1 minute.
