Self expression through poetry

The Independent Schools Arts Festival provided a platform for students across Victoria to express themselves through poetry. A number of our Years 4 & 5 students seized the opportunity to write poems for entry in the inaugural poetry competition. Students crafted poems that showed their depth of thinking when viewing the world and a strong command of poetic techniques. A common theme was beauty in nature. Over 300 entries were received and judging criteria included imagery, style and structure.Mazal tov to Amy Schmideg (Year 5) and Jonah Solomon (Year 4) who were recognised with honourable mentions.Debbie ArnheimTalent Development Coordinator
