Kinder in the Bush together

Excitement filled the air yesterday morning as the children eagerly arrived at Kinder, ready to begin our very first Bush Kinder adventure for the year. The children showed wonderful independence as they organised themselves, putting on their overalls and gumboots in preparation for the rainy weather. Although we were a little nervous about the possibility of a thunderstorm, it stayed away and allowed us to enjoy our special day.

The bus ride was full of laughter, happiness and anticipation as we made our way there. When we arrived, the sun was shining for us. We gathered together to say our Acknowledgement of Country and discussed the important rules to help keep us safe in the bush. Then, off they went! The children had so much fun exploring the natural environment, searching for bugs and insects, building pretend campfires, and using their imagination in open-ended play. After morning tea, we went on an exciting dinosaur hunt… fortunately for us, we didn’t spot any!

Bush Kinder is such an important part of learning. It helps children build confidence, independence and resilience as they take safe risks and try new challenges. Spending time in nature also supports their physical development, problem-solving skills, creativity and teamwork. Most importantly, it encourages a love and respect for the environment while giving children the freedom to explore, discover and learn in a meaningful and hands-on way. We are already looking forward to our next adventure!Thank you Sam (Ben's Dad) for coming and helping out!
