Immersive Outdoor Experiences
The King David School's Outdoor Education program begins in the ELC with Bush Kinder and finishes with a nostalgic Shabbaton camp where Year 12 bond over their shared past and future.
Students develop confidence, understand the value of discomfort, and lean into their creativity and collaboration skills.

Bush Kinder
Our ELC students explore together at Gan Tevah, Bush Kinder. They engage their imaginations, learn team work, and have their curiousity rewarded by the natural world.

Years 3 & 4
Our Years 3 and 4 students spend two days in the bush (often the Dandenong Ranges), rock climbing, tree surfing and navigating a low ropes course. They are challenged to build bush huts they can shelter in.

Year 6
Year 6 students visit Canberra and explore the many national monuments and museums as well as learn about the Australian Parliament.

Year 7
Our Year 7 camp focuses on aquatic sports, including surfing, boogie boarding, and stand up paddle boarding. Students learn water safety, CPR, and how to survive in the bush.

Year 8
In Year 8 students hike to an overnight camp site, preparing them for their more significant hikes in Year 9. They collaborate to prepare dinner and take responsibility for navigating their hikes.
Peer Leadership Program
Our Year 10 leadership program, Derech, creates confident student leaders. Select Year 10 students attend Camps as peer leaders. They run activities, help with logisitics and become mentors to younger year levels.

Creating independence and self-belief
Our Years 9 - 12 camps provide students with unique opportunities to grow. Each experience is designed to cultivate independence, resilience, and essential life skills.

Year 9 Camp
In Year 9, students participate in an outdoor camp that fosters independence and resilience. This program includes a multi-day hike that equips them with vital life skills.
