Academic Scholarships – Additional Information

 

The Academic Scholarship recognises and supports students who demonstrate outstanding academic ability and a strong commitment to learning.

Scholarship applications are open from November – February. 

Are you eligible to apply?

Internal and external students are invited to apply for Academic Scholarships.

Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. 

Selection will be based on academic merit and will take into account:

  • completion of KDS application and submitted requested documents
  • two most recent school reports
  • most recent NAPLAN results (if applicable)
  • prospective student profile
  • completion of Edutest testing on-site at the School (a link will be provided to you once you have completed The King David School online registration). $110 Edutest registration fee applies
  • external applicants will also have an interview with our Principal, Marc Light and spend a day at the School (Experience Day for applicants for Year 7).
Value

Academic scholarships cover up to 70% of tuition fees (exact percentage determined by merit). This Scholarship is awarded for the duration of the student’s schooling, subject to annual review and adherance to the scholarship conditions.  This scholarship does not cover:

  • the cost of books, stationery, instrumental lessons or uniforms
  • discretionary charges such as overseas trips
  • security charges
  • associated charges
Ongoing Conditions

Academic Scholarship recipients must:

  • maintain strong academic performance
  • contribute positively to the School community
  • Demonstrate appropriate conduct and attitude
  • Comply with all School rules and ensure fees are paid on time.

Progress and contribution to School life is reviewed annually. A Scholarship may be withdrawn if the  Principal is not satisfied with the diligence or conduct of the recipient. Failure to pay fees may also lead to withdrawal.

All applicants must submit an online Scholarship application made directly to The King David School as well as an application directly to Edutest. 

Once the Admissions Department has received your application, external applicants will be invited to attend an interview with our Principal, Marc Light.
