Beating the Bullies

An article appeared in the Jewish News last week, featuring our past students, Rachel Tigel and Rebecca Birch (Class of 2010).

They have created a blog called “How I Beat My Bully” which details their own personal experiences as victims of bullying at school.

They spoke highly of the very supportive environment they experienced when they came to The King David School in their senior years.

King's Carnival

We believe we put on the best Fete in town and last Sunday was no exception. Even the morning rain couldn’t dampen people’s enthusiasm and the sound of children having the time of their lives filled Southwick campus.

All the funds raised from this event goes back into the School. Many thanks to the countless volunteers who made sure the 2013 King’s Carnival was a memorable day out for all.

With Rabbi Gersh and Marshall leading and incredible support from teachers and parents, both Sedarim were filled with stories, songs, blessings, and of course, matzah and grape juice!

Senior Kindergarten Dance Excursion

On Thursday, 60 extremely enthusiastic kindergarten children boarded The King David School bus for our very first Senior Kinder excursion.
The short bus trip took us to The Space Dance & Arts Centre for a 45-minute dance workshop.

Our dance teacher, Hayley, was patient as our over-excited classes tried their best to calm down and listen to her instructions! She led us through a number of fun games, including pretending to be animals.
We stretched our bodies and then played a ...

Kibbutz Experience!

Some of the students in their kibbutz lessons at the Southwick Campus today got to experience real life on a kibbutz.
Sometimes on a kibbutz a ‘Gius’ is called and that means everyone has to stop what they are doing and help with an urgent job.
The students stopped weeding and planting and turned their attention to shucking corn for the Fete and they absolutely loved it. See you at the fete.

Year 6 Camp

Year 6 students have come back from camp exhausted but very satisfied from the range of activities they had on offer in and around Blairgowrie!
We started off our action-packed week with a lesson in snorkelling.  The students very much enjoyed the lesson on how to clear your snorkel if it fills with water – give it a quick outtake of breath, “tchuch,” and you can soak your neighbour with the water spurt that comes out of your snorkel!

Tuesday morning ...
