Darwin Defenders Commemoration Ceremony

Australia was first bombed when the Japanese dropped 64 bombs on Darwin between February 19, 1942 and ’45 during the Second World War. Over recent years, an annual commemoration service has been held at the Shrine of Remembrance courtyard to honour those who fought and/or died in the bombings.

Years 6 to 12 Inter-House Swimming Gala

The competition was fierce and so were the dance moves at today’s Years 6 to 12 Inter-House Swimming Gala at Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre (GESAC)

House spirit was at an all time high with School Leaders leading the charge for their respective Houses. The popular staff versus students race was hotly contested and won by a very narrow margin by the students!

Arava House Captains accepted the trophy for the overall winners.  Mazel Tov!

2014 Aerial Assist Challenge

The Corn is High at Southwick

Just before the summer break, the students of the Junior School planted their crop of corn. It started to grow and it was about 30cm high when School finished. When they returned to School they were amazed to see that the corn was now much taller than them and there were corn cobs everywhere.

Yesh Program – Life Changing Opportunity

On 11 December 2013, 4 Year 10 students from The King David School and 1 student from Firbank Grammar departed Tullamarine Airport for the beginning of a four week exploration of Israel as part of the School’s Yesh program.

Year 7 Orientation Camp

Our Year 7 students started School on Friday last week and after 2 hours of classroom organisation, departed to the Phillip Island Coastal Discovery Camp for the weekend. This is a new School initiative with the aim of the camp to enable students to make connections between each other over the Shabbat and to share some relaxed time together before formal classes started.

Our School Welcomes Dr Bryan Conyer – Director of Jewish Life

It is with great delight that we welcome Dr Bryan Conyer and his family to our School Community.  Bryan has assumed the position of Director of Jewish Life. He is a renowned educator with a depth of experience in North America and Australia, most recently as Deputy Principal, Jewish Life at the Emanuel School in Sydney.  He has already begun to make a major contribution to Jewish Life at King David.

Emotions ran high on Tuesday evening as the graduating Class of 2013 were farewelled, student achievements in 2013 were recognised and beautiful music was performed by our Years 6 to 12 Vocal and Orchestral Ensembles.
