Science education encourages the students’ curiosity and challenges them to ask questions about the physical world. From Prep, students are presented with opportunities to experiment, observe and hypothesise, eventually progressing to researching and recording. At this early stage there is a particular emphasis on scientific thinking and the experimental method. Students are asked to develop their ideas (hypotheses), design a method for testing their ideas and then adjust their thinking in accordance with the results.

The area of science is approached using an inquiry-based model. This allows students to develop their interests and work with students who have similar skills.
