Visual Arts at King David is a dynamic area where creative thinking and conceptual development are at the forefront of programs delivered by subjects such as Art, Media Studies, Visual Communication and Design. These programs enable students to develop visual literacy and awareness while expanding creative thinking and ultimately empower students to unlock their creativity. The creative process is demystified and students gain skills and concepts along with materials and techniques while gaining confidence in their creative expression. The visual arts curriculum develops skills such as critical thinking, sequencing, fine motor control, and analytical reasoning. All these skills enhance learning of other subject areas such as reading, science, writing and mathematics. Additionally, the curriculum fosters self expression, self esteem, and a sense of empowerment, and its fun. The Visual Arts department is based at the newly built Rebecca Magid Centre. Students work in modern light filled studios and classrooms where they utilize State of the Art technology and resources while working with committed experienced teachers.
