Ashleigh Kaplan - "Untitled"
The purpose of my project is to display to the everyday person the realness of life and how sometimes slowing down and looking at a thing or a ‘moment’ from a distance makes you appreciate life and the little things all that more. As well I will add to a couple of my images in the series a feministic theme to them, specifically drawing out the female subjects with a sense of kinship, rather than voyeurism.
I want the audience to feel impacted my photographic series as they become more appreciative and grateful for all the things they have. The themes I want my photographs to showcase are realness, rawness, authenticity, love and I want them to evoke gratitude in the audience. My photographs will aim to represent freedom, naturalistic and tranquil aspects of life. I want to be able to capture a moment in a series of different photographs, all presenting life as still along with tearing back the layers of busy life, making the photographs radiate silence and a still moment.
