Sport training resumes!

Students have been extremely keen to engage in physical competition post lock-down. Today the Senior School students took to the field for some soccer training or enjoyed either netball or basketball workouts. The table tennis tables provided great competition for other students . The gym was also well utilised as students began to replenish lost muscle mass experienced during isolation. We hope to see some inter-school competition in the near future. Friendly competition in and out of the pool

King David’s biggest ever Senior School Swimming Gala took place at Harold Holt Swim Centre on Thursday and the atmosphere was fantastic. The pool was busy with students participating in individual and team events. The day began with the student team narrowly defeating the staff relay team. Prep to Year 5 Inter-House Athletics

The sun was shining at the start of this week’s Prep to Year 5 Inter-House Athletics Carnival. Students competed in a number of sporting events and the clouds that threatened did not inhibit our students from jumping, running and throwing themselves into every event. Stunning results on the slopes

A fantastic performance by the King David Snow Sports team who competed in both the Maccabi Event and the ABL Jewish interschools competition.

We had a strong team of 13 students from Years 3 to 11. King David came 2nd in both the primary and secondary division for the Jewish Interschool and overall 3rd. Below are the final results for our students.

Talented athletes!

Earlier this week, 5 talented KDS athletes competed under lights at the EISM Athletics Champions Round at Lakeside Stadium. It was a strong field of athletes from 21 schools. These competitors had qualified as the top participants of each of the three EISM Division Athletics Carnivals.

EISM Tennis champs

Winners are grinners! Our Senior boys tennis team were crowned EISM champions this week after defeating Alphington Grammar to secure the trophy for the third time in 5 years.

After the 6 singles matches were completed, the Grand Final was tied 3-3. It came down to the three doubles matches to decide the winner. Our team then went on to win 2 out of 3 doubles. Mazal tov!

Track & field stars

Track and Field stars were out in full force on Friday 22 March at the Years 6-12 Inter-house Athletics Carnival. Senior students competed fiercely for House points in every event.

Amazing performances from Galil, Kinneret & Arava were evident, particularly in the 100m sprint as they tried to beat the reigning champions, Negev who have held onto the perpetual shield for 5 consecutive years.

Many podium finishes at EISM Swimming competition

33 students from Years 7-12 competed in the EISM swimming carnival at Ringwood Aquanation yesterday. There were some stand-out performances including Livia Lazarow’s victory in the 50m Freestyle and Nina Kanat’s many freestyle events including the 100m Freestyle where she scored 3rd as well as a 50m second place. The Years 6 to 12 Inter-House Swimming Gala was a riot of house spirit, colour, talent and ruach! Swimmers from each year level participated well and earned their respective house points.
