The Junior School Inter-House Athletics Gala held last Friday was an action packed day with great sportsmanship on display .

Year 7 Boys Indoor Cricket Stars

This week our Year 9 boys represented King David in the EISM Indoor Cricket Carnival. Throughout the day KDS competed in a 5 game round robin system followed by finals. The boys were unsure what to expect however they were confident after 3 training sessions with coach Ari.

Sporting Teams on a Roll!

Just when we thought our sporting winning streak had ended, our Year 8/9 Boys Basketball won their THIRD successive basketball championship in the EISM. The final game was a classic encounter playing against Bialik. Bialik did all they could which included bringing their entire Year 8/9 cohort to Orrong Romanis. Our Students Excel on Snow Camp and Snowsports Competitions

Our inaugural inter-year-level Ski Camp was a great experience for the students who participated. The snow has been rated the best at Buller in two decades. It was a treat to go on runs which were rarely open. Year 6 student Jason recalled that “it was the best day of my life”.

Investing in Students’ Emerging Jewish Identity

Dear Community,

Our Junior School was filled today with that most special type of love – the unique bond between a grandparent and a grandchild. We hosted our Grandparents and Special Friends’ Shabbat services and they were predictably constituted of equal parts cuteness, hilarity and heartfelt emotion.

KDS Compete at Winter Round Robin

Last week, Years 5 & 6 students competed in the Balaclava District Winter Round Robin. Football, Soccer, Netball and Teeball were played at various venues around Melbourne.

KDS performed extremely well , winning many games across all the sports.

Mixed AFL: 5th
Boys Soccer: 4th
Girls Soccer: 5th
Teeball: 5th
Girls Netball: 7th
Mixed Netball: 3rd

All students represented KDS in a fantastic display of sportsmanship and skill. Well done to all players and coaches in what was a great day.

Squad Goals at the Balaclava District Swimming Carnival

The Balaclava District Swimming Carnival was held at GESAC earlier this week. It was a great day with the sun shining and lots of support for our Years 4-6 swimmers . 29 students represented KDS on the day with a number of students winning ribbons. There were many highlights during the day with three students coming 2nd in their individual events advancing to the Beachside Division Competition next Friday at Oakleigh Rec Centre. Junior School Inter-House Athletics Carnival

Our Prep to Year 5 students competed enthusiastically in this year’s Inter-House Athletics Carnival in an excellent show of sportsmanship.

The atmosphere at the track was electric, with team spirit shining through from all ages. KDSPA ran a scrumptious Sports Cafe to cater to the hungry athletes and parents!

King David – Success on the Ski Slopes

This week the slopes of Mt Buller was the venue for the 2016 Jewish Interschool Snowsports. Seven Jewish schools from Melbourne and Sydney participated in three events over two days. The cold, rainy and windy conditions for the first day of competition were certainly not ideal, however the 25 King David students persevered and participated with excellent results.
