Womindjeka- ‘Come with purpose’

Womindjeka. This loosely means ‘Welcome’ in the local indigenous Boon Wurrung language, but more strictly, it means, ‘come with purpose’.

KDS is ‘coming with purpose’, especially during National Reconciliation Week.

Students in the Senior School marked Reconciliation Week both on campus and through digital learning. Some KDS students conducted interviews with a number of First Nations Peoples, including Jabiru’s Black Rock Band frontman, Richie Guymala, VCE student Zoe Walters from Alice Springs, Miki Cameron and Ben Russell (KDS mural artists and Deakin University students from Newcastle and Taree NSW respectively). These are available on the following myKDS dedicated Reconciliation page: https://my.kds.vic.edu.au/homepage/7199/

Marc Light, Laura Pearce, Cassie Oblowitz, Sidra Moshinsky, Yoel Benn, Lesley Wesseik, Russell Newman and Peter Julian
