In these times of social isolation, finding ways to connect with our broader community is more important than ever. For Yom Ha’Atzmaut, Year 3 students combined art with an act of kindness and connection: creating celebratory artworks for the enjoyment of elderly residents of Emmy Monash Aged Care.
After learning about how the history of Yom Ha’Atzmaut and the way it is observed in Israel and throughout the world, students drew on their knowledge of Israel’s special places, landmarks and culture to make pictures celebrating Israel’s independence day. These bright and cheerful artworks were made into a slide show that was displayed on TV screens throughout Emmy Monash.
Thank you to our wonderful Year 3 students whose beautiful artworks helped make Yom Ha’Atzmaut a special day for some very special members of the community.
