Rabbi David Saperstein, President of the World Union of Reform Judaism, visited The King David School this week, addressing the Year 12 cohort and meeting with members of the Hanhagah. Designated by Newsweek Magazine as the most influential rabbi in America, for decades he directed the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, representing the Reform Jewish movement, the largest segment of American Jewry, to the U.S. Congress. Rabbi Saperstein spoke to the students about being inspired by Jewish concepts to take action and work towards tikkun olam. He is here to support the UIA Progressive Appeal (a Union for Progressive Judaism partnership with UIA) and especially the Israel Religious Action Centre.
