Congratulations to Year 6 students, Eden Blumberg and Charlotte Lipton for winning a prize in a Zoos Victoria STEM Design Challenge.
Zoos Victoria set a challenge for interested students to help improve the wellbeing of the Lemur and Meerkat populations at Melbourne Zoo. Their objective was to build a prototype 3D sustainable model that would increase an aspect of the animal’s natural behaviour. Three Year 6 KDS teams entered the competition. They are all to be commended for their passion, deep thinking and creativeness. Zoo keepers were inspired by a video submission called “Tree To Lemur” and plan to factor the prototype idea into future thinking. Eden and Charlotte carefully thought about their model. Their feeding contraption is going to be professionally built by experts and introduced to the Lemur’s enclosure.
