A highly sensory experience!

Gan Seorah chose the best day this week to venture to the Royal Botanic Gardens. They were treated to a guided tour of the Ian Potter Children’s Garden, observing a variety of flora and fauna with a focus on native plants. They learned more about the Boonwurrong aboriginal people and were shown tools and artefacts used by our first people. Their guide, Linda, showed them how to create paint using a soft rock called ochre and the children enjoyed the sensory experience of marking the garden walls and calico with their ochre prints.

We enjoyed a picnic lunch before returning to Kinder for a rest!
