Past Parents Association |
The Past Parents Association was formed to enable parents
to maintain or renew friendships made during the time
their children attended KDS and to foster ongoing involvement
in the School’s activities. Many past parents continue
to support the School in a number of ways: through service
on School Council, providing assistance and advice in
their area of professional expertise, supporting school
functions, or just barbecuing sausages at the School Fete!
The School welcomes your support and involvement wherever
it is given.
The Past Parents Association plays an important role in
the life of our School and our community, primarily in
relation to the continuation of the values of the School,
together with providing the pleasant ambience for past
parents to enjoy renewed association, not forgetting the
ever present funding needs of the School.
For some years the School has been substantially improving
its educational facilities. It has come a long way in
this regard, especially with the development and opening
of the Magid Institute. Now the school is looking to turn
its focus to the younger students and we believe that
the Past Parents Association should make a concerted effort
to support this. We have identified the upgrading of Sports
Field (Oval) at the Magid Campus for years 3 – 8,
a project costed in the vicinity of $180,000 as the project
that we would like to support in 2006.
If you are as passionate as we are about the education
of our grandchildren and future generations we would urge
you to support the Oval Upgrade at Magid Campus.
Our suggestion is that each family contribute:
a) $3,000 over a three year period, ($1,000
per year), or alternately if you have a desire for greater
involvement
b) $5,000 over1 or 2 years for Foundation
5000 membership.
If every past parent family supports the School in this
way it will make a significant difference to the School,
its facilities and the programs it can offer.
We hope that you will join us and look forward to seeing
you at the meeting. Our aim is to give this important
arm of our School a real lift for the valuable task of
fundraising for the School as well as recapturing and
reinvigorating those friendships that made our School
such a valued part of ours and our children’s lives.
